So the world shuts down, and suddenly we’re experiencing a pandemic in our life time. Because of this, parties, church service, concerts, and any other social event of mass had vanished with the threat of upending human society as we know it and the creatives were very briskly left without a major income stream: touring. SYGNWAV included.
We launched Syndicate Summer Sessions as a lifeline for artists and fans craving connection. What began as a virtual concert series grew into a seasonal platform that showcased emerging and underground acts through high-quality livestreams. We pioneered a fully virtual concert format, delivering a live music experience that felt emotionally and sonically rich. We shaped the concert vision, branded each edition, curated diverse performer lineups, and transitioned the platform into a hybrid outdoor setting as restrictions began to ease. It became a blueprint for artist resilience during uncertain times.
As the series evolved, so did its cultural and creative ambition. Summer Sessions 2: Better All Together marked our first live outdoor event post-lockdown, a joyful, community-first return to gathering. Summer Sessions 3: Divine Summer drew inspiration from Father Divine’s spiritual communes, transforming a San Francisco bar into an altar of R&B, Afrohouse, and radical connection. By 2024, Summer Sessions 4: Golden Hour Gothic found us collaborating with Park Social, a local cannabis dispensary, where we transformed their venue into a soft goth–themed gala celebrating intersectionality and queer artistry. Among the night’s highlights, we hosted Park Social’s very first rave. Each installment expanded the concept of what a concert could be, elevating it into a layered experience combining fashion, storytelling, ritual, and sound.
